The board cost is minimized by using all SMD components. This board connects directly to the FTDI Basic Breakout board and supports auto-reset. The Arduino Pro Mini also works with the FTDI cable but the FTDI cable does not bring out the DTR pin so the auto-reset feature will not work. A voltage regulator on board can accept voltage ranging from 3.4V to 12V. If unregulated power is supply to the board, user must make sure to connect to the "RAW" pin on not VCC. The board can be program either by using SPI communication or I2C at pins A4 and A5.
