Analog Devices ADALM-PLUTO

ADI’s ADALM-PLUTO Active Learning Module (PlutoSDR) is a physical RF lab that fits in the palm of your hand. Its price point and capabilities have made it so popular we are not always able to maintain stock. Key features of the instrument are two independent radio channels, one receive channel, and one transmit channel, which can be operated in full duplex. It can generate or measure RF analog signals from 325 to 3800 MHz.

Internal hardware includes the Analog Devices AD9361 RF Agile Transceiver™, Micron DDR3L and QSPI Flash, Xilinx® Zqynq® programmable SoC, and a USB 2.0 PHY. The firmware of the PlutoSDR is open source and uses technology from Das U-Boot, the Linux Kernel, and Buildroot. Detailed schematics, HDL user guide, and documentation can be found on https://wiki.analog.com/university/tools/pluto/developers.

ADALM-PLUTO Capabilities and Use Cases

PlutoSDR was developed to help introduce electrical engineering students to the fundamentals of software-defined radio (SDR), radio frequency (RF), and wireless communications. It is an open and flexible tool intended to support all ranges of users. Students use PlutoSDR to better understand the RF world around them. Developers can write custom software or HDL that runs directly on the open source PlutoSDR platform.
