This tutorial will focus on providing an application insight into protecting Ethernet interfaces from transient voltage threats and introducing Semtech's solutions. An overview of the increased need for transient voltage protection will be discussed. Transient voltage threat types including ESD, CDE, and Lightning will be explained as well as how Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) devices function and what to look for when choosing a TVS component. Finally, this module will explore Semtech's TVS solutions and present some real world Ethernet applications.
