For in-cabinet solutions, where minimal protection is required, an open hood solution is available. Secure placement of the wires is achieved with cable tie fixing to the open frame design while screw fixing assures reliable connection to the mating half. For backplane applications connectors can be fitted with pin shrouds, allowing rear plug up of additional cable assemblies. Shrouds are available for types E and F. Type E connectors can be latched with or without a shell housing. The type F shrouds come with screw fixing for use with a shell housing or locking levers when no housing is used.
