One of the chief design concerns of a security camera is low power consumption. onsemi current products are developed on a DMOS process technology that employs a low Ron FET. A bipolar process would have to use a transistor, which inherently uses more power. The mid to high-end models require low vibration in the motors. This minimizes the shaking of the image and yields better quality video. Microstepping the position of the motors results in smooth pan and tilt.
