Because of Sumida’s extensive experience in inductive products and core material compositions, it was possible to meet performance objectives while keeping package size to a minimum. With a footprint of only 5.2mm by 7.1mm, the device will fit on the tightest PC boards. The toroidal transformer is entirely encapsulated, providing added mechanical protection. Completing the design, the core composition is formulated to perform well over a wide temperature range, including very low temperatures.
