The Vishay RCM series of molded metal film resistors are built around a ceramic core on which a stabilized metal layer is deposited and laser-cut to define the resistance value and tolerances. Tinned copper wires are welded to the precision end caps. Finally, an overmolding insulation layer is added for electrical, mechanical, and climactic protection.
