MT8385 Genio 500 System-on-Chip (SoC)

MediaTek Genio 500 (MT8385) architecture is a highly integrated and powerful IoT platform incorporating application processing, a visual processor unit (VPU), and connectivity subsystems to enable a wide range of use cases that require high-performance edge processing, advanced multimedia and connectivity capabilities, and high-resolution cameras. The platform features advanced implementation of Quad-core Arm^® Cortex^™-A73 and Cortex-A53, both operating at up to 2.0 GHz, and a powerful graphics accelerator. The MT8385 features LPDDR3 and LPDDR4/x for optimal performance and also supports booting from eMMC to minimize the overall BOM cost. In addition, an extensive set of interfaces is included to connect to cameras, touchscreen displays, and MMC^™/SD cards.

The quad-core Arm Cortex-A73 and Cortex-A53, equipped with the Arm Neon^™ engine, offer the necessary processing power to support high-level operating systems along with demanding applications such as web browsing, email, GPS navigation, and games. This content can be enhanced by the 2D/3D graphics accelerator and then visualized on a high-resolution touchscreen display. To provide advanced multimedia applications and services such as streaming audio and video, the device features a multi-standard video accelerator with a multitude of decoders and encoders such as HEVC and H.264, and an advanced audio subsystem.
