IPD System for Light Connection Using Panel Feed-Throughs

Phoenix Contact's installation power distribution (IPD) uses push-in termination to reliably connect to a bulkhead or device enclosure without the need for tools. This system combines the bulkhead-mounted base and an exterior hood. Simply mount the base, terminate the wires on both sides using Phoenix Contact’s advanced push-in technology, and seal the outside with the IP66/IP68-rated hood/gland combination.

Using IPD is quick and easy requiring a simple M20 or M25 hole in the device for mounting. It is great for applications that are primarily non-disconnect. Designed for the lighting industry, installing lighting fixtures in a variety of configurations made easy. The light connection enables the use of wiring robots on the device side and 3- and 5-pole cables up to 2.5 mm² on the field side. The PT termination is perfect for solid core wires that are typically used inside lighting fixtures. This is extremely helpful for assembly facilities that incorporate robotics to complete internal wiring terminations. At the fixture’s installation point, the external PT termination provides an intuitive wire termination that installers can utilize. If a fixture needs replacement or maintenance, the PT termination allows for clean removal of the exterior wires, so the wires do not need to be cut or prepped to be installed in a fixture.

These are not designed for use on control cabinets, so UL type ratings are not needed to accompany this certification. The IPD connection system is UL-listed under file number E468743, category PVVA, and tested against UL2237 for all other demands for mounted power connections.
