The ISL82 family is designed for space-constrained and battery-operated applications, integration with the controller, and operation from a single 4.5 V to 16.5 V wide input power rail.

The devices allow full-power operation without a heat sink over most conditions due to their high efficiency, low thermal resistance, and selectable light-load mode (PFM). Renesas' proprietary R4™ control technology utilizes inherent feed-forward enabling the ISL8210M/12M/80M/82M modules to provide exceptional fast-load and internal compensation which makes for easy usability.
