The high-pass filters and FFT blocks in the Spectral Doppler flow are also available in the DSP library that is provided with the toolkit. The scan conversion block at the end translates the scanned echo data from the polar to rectangular coordinates which are suitable for display on an LCD display. The blocks shown in red are blocks that are available in TI’s software toolkit. The other blocks can be built with the DSP library and IT math library routines that are available from TI. Doing the basic algorithms on a DSP, as well as other algorithms not shown, enables tremendous flexibility, low latency, and debug benefits compared to other hardware or software solutions.
