Shown on this slide is a block diagram for a typical security camera. The tilt and pan functions are controlled by stepper motors. Sometimes, due to size of the motor selected, the torque requirements will require a motor with higher voltage specifications. The recommended stepper motor drivers for these applications are the LV871x, LV854x, and the LV873x series of stepper motor drivers. The LV873x series is the higher voltage, 24 V, capable driver series. The zoom and focus control motors are typically brushed DC motors in the 3 to 5 V range. For these applications, the LV804x and LV805x series of motor drivers would be a good choice.
