A symmetric light shape is also a benefit of ROHM’s PICOLED and PICOLED-Eco products. This slide shows the light shape of a standard LED and a ROHM PicoLED from the top view as if one was looking down at the LED. Shown here, the standard LED on the left has an oval shape due to the rectangular 1 mm x 0.6 mm active area. In contrast, ROHM's PICOLED and PICOLED-Eco devices have a symmetric shape due to the 0.6 mm x 0.6 mm symmetric active area. In addition, the compact package supports high-density mounting, allowing for high resolution similar to a photograph.
