AC charging cables are used in home charging environments and in public chargers utilizing alternating current. In 2023, a charging standard was added to the public domain modeled after the design originally proprietary to Tesla. This standard is seen as the future of EV charging for North America. These products are the first in the portfolio from Phoenix Contact with this NACS (North American Charging Standard), also known as SAE J3400, to supply power to an EV. The NACS AC charging cables come in power ratings of 50 A and 80 A, with the option for temperature sensors in the cables to monitor the charging process.
