STSPIN958 DC Motor Driver Expansion Board

STMicroelectronics' scalable product family STSPIN9 is designed to drive brushed DC and stepper motors up to the 58 V range. The family includes two part numbers: STSPIN948 (dual full bridge) and STSPIN958 (full bridge). The slew-rate programmability guarantees the best trade-off between power consumption and EMI. The current control is embedded and available with PWM based on fixed OFF time and programmable threshold. The device is fully protected thanks to UVLO, thermal protection, overcurrent, and short-circuit protections. STSPIN948 and STSPIN958 feature embedded op amps for current sensing.

STSPIN948 is a double full bridge driver that can be used in multiple configurations to drive stepper and brushed DC motors. It comes in a compact QFN48 7x7. STSPIN958 is a full bridge driver with the flexibility to drive two unidirectional motors, one bidirectional brushed DC motor, or, parallelizing the output, one unidirectional motor with a higher current. It has a compact QFN32 5x5 package. This driving flexibility makes the devices cover many different stepper and brushed DC motors applications.
