EPP-918A is a proprietary protective compound for electrical connectors, developed over a four year period from 2004 to 2007. It is a viscous liquid and forms a thin layer on the metal, typically 1.1 to 1.8mg per contact set, and contains 65% of synthetic hydrocarbon products which makes the compound nonconductive. It neither contains water nor dissolves in water. It has been extensively tested to make sure that it will withstand harsh conditions and continue to function as expected.
