Three tiers of compatible QorIQ platforms enable performance scaling for a wide range of applications from the networked home to the service-rich enterprise to the expansion of Ethernet and high-speed I/O into industrial applications. The P5020 and P5010 platforms, which are the focus of this presentation, sit at the high end of the performance spectrum for Power Architecture operating at 2GHz and introduce the first 32/64-bit processor to our QorIQ family. The QorIQ P5020 and P5010 processors offer pin compatibility with the P4080, P4040 and P3041 processors and provide a scalable software platform and architecture to 64-bit processing. The P5 family joins our other QorIQ processors and provide a single core and dual core migration point from MPC8572 and P2020 families. The P1 products are cost effective single and dual-core solutions targeting low-end control and data applications. They scale to 1.2GHz and run in an under 8W maximum power envelope. The P2020/P2010 products are focused on the mid to low end mixed control and data applications. The processors provide pin compatibility to some of the P1 family of processors and operate in an 8W and under power envelope at 1.2GHz. The P2040, P2041 and P3041 processors sit at the mid range of the performance spectrum for Power Architecture operating at up to 1.5GHz and introduces a cost and power reduced alternative to the P4040 family. The P4 products are many-core devices focused on the data-processing, high-end computing space. They operate at less than 30w for an 8-core device and the P4081 operates at less than 22W. The QorIQ P5 family incorporates the Datapath Acceleration Architecture (DPAA), which offloads the cores from the need to perform common packet-handling tasks, leaving the cores free to perform higher level tasks and achieve greater performance.
