The NXP portfolio of multicore processors includes the P5, P4, P3 and P2 platforms. All solutions are fabric based, utilize DPAA to offload packet processing tasks and provide for a tri-level cache hierarchy. The processors highlighted on this slide are all pin and software compatible. The P5020 and P5010 are the first processors currently shipping in the QorIQ family that supports 32- and 64-bit processing. Some key differences to note include: the P5 series has a core frequency of up to 2GHz, while the P3 and P4 series support up to 1.5GHz; in addition the P5 series provides support for low power Dual DDR memory and RAID5/6 acceleration used for parity calculations in storage applications. The P5020 and P5010 processors also provide for pin compatibility to the P4 and P3 platforms enabling customers to design with several I/O and performance bands in mind.
