The LTC4000 is unique in Analog Devices' portfolio. From a total solution perspective, an older LT device the LT1620 current-sense amplifier performs a similar function when paired with a switching regulator like the LTC1435. However it is much older technology and lacks many of the features the LTC4000 solution offers. The LTC4000 requires an externally compensated switching regulator to form a complete battery management solution. Thus, comparisons to other portfolio complete charger products such as the LT3652/HV and LTC4009/12 controllers are similar in multi-chemistry and high voltage operation only. Comparisons of system performance will vary based on the type of switching regulator that the LTC4000 is paired with.
