The key feature of the OMD MLCC is that it does not short as a result of a crack induced by board flexure. Additionally, the internal structure of the OMD MLCC also allows for high breakdown voltage characteristics as compared to a standard design MLCC. This makes the OMD MLCC a good choice for high frequency filtering applications as well as ballast capacitors in lighting applications.
