Arduino Launches the UNO Q

Engineers, students and electronics enthusiasts rejoice: Arduino has released their next-gen UNO Q, a single board computer that combines a Linux Debian-capable microprocessor with a real-time STM32U585 microcontroller. Together, this affordable SBC allows for high-speed bridge computing with real time control and makes Edge AI development possible.

This board was made to be best friends with sensors and UNO shields: products like the Modulinos can easily be paired through the onboard QWIIC connector, 3.3 V shields can be still be used thanks to the UNO form factor standard box headers, and high speed headers on the underside of the board make it compatible with Arduino Carriers.

The UNO Q can run in one of two modes: PC-Connected or Standalone Mode. PC-Connected mode is the traditional method of connecting the UNO Q to a PC through a USB-C connector. In Standalone mode, Arduino’s App Lab can run directly on the UNO Q by simply plugging in a monitor, keyboard and mouse via carrier board or USB-C dock.

The Arduino App Lab is an all-in-one free development environment that merges Arduino sketches, Python scripts and AI models from a single interface. Prebuilt examples allow AI capabilities to be experienced within minutes, with capabilities to fully personalize and modify the demonstration code. AI App Lab examples include face detection, sound recognition, image classification, keyword spotting and more.
