The amount of output current the customer will need depends on the gate charge (Qg) the customer is driving, and how fast the customer wishes to turn on and turn off the power device. ROHM has drivers that can typically deliver 30 A (guaranteed 20 A) source and sink currents, and in some cases this can eliminate the need for a buffer stage and can save several components.
