Overcurrent Protection with Two Adjustable Levels

Overcurrent protection (OCP) protects against inrush current on the load. ROHM IPD features two levels of current limit thresholds; one level that corresponds to the first initial inrush current spike during turn-on, and a second level for the following steady-state current level. Both of these OCP levels are adjustable. In addition, the masking time between OCP-1 and OCP-2 is also adjustable (as shown in the picture here), allowing great flexibility to provide the most optimal overcurrent protection for the system.
