An example of a robot vacuum cleaner block diagram is shown here. This (part-3) presentation will focus on highlighting motor driver products, DC/DC power, and intelligent power devices. Motor drivers are essential for robots, as they allow motion and movement. DC/DC power is another very important part, as it allows the conversion of voltage from on-board batteries to supply low-voltage chips through the system. Intelligent power devices are ROHM’s version of power switches that give the added benefit of on-chip protection features; these have rapidly started replacing traditional mechanical and electrical fuses.
