Stepper motors may be used in a robot where precision and stopping position is important, such as robotic arms and other precise-movement auxiliary applications. The product lineup for ROHM’s stepping motor driver covers 36 V max supply voltage from 1 A to 4 A current drive, with step sizes from full-step to 1/16th step, and with input interface using direct clock-in mode or the traditional parallel-in mode. Some part numbers are even more flexible and can cover both types of input interface. The BD63910MUV and BD63920MUV comes in a small-sized 5 x 5 mm QFN package.
