In order to get to such a small pitch distance such as 0.2mm and 0.3mm pitches, the pins are arranged in a staggered position whereas the larger 0.4 and 0.5mm pitches have the connections in line with one another. Panasonic’s Y3BW and Y5BW offer a feature called FPC holding contacts. The newest series include the low-profile Y3BL series, a differential impedance matching compliant type Y4BH series, and the most recent slim type Y3BC series which is constructed with inner wall moldings to prevent FPC insertion displacement.
