Würth Elektronik Midcom’s standard magnetics configurations usually suffice to pass EMC requirements. The primary concern is the functional performance of the product. Additionally, mechanical design issues, reliability, and environment issues must be also be addressed. EMI is usually the last concern to be addressed. Often, the product is in the EMI lab and there is little chance to change the design if issues should arise. If the layout does not include accommodations for extra chip beads and a common choke mode, the HPLE series may be the answer.
