The preferred placement is along the length of the PCBA, however other locations may be considered with an understanding that the performance will be less than described in the associated datasheet. To show the relative performance trade-offs, a study was performed to compare both impedance bandwidth changes and the efficiencies of the ceramic in five different PCB locations with the W3010 (GPS) ground clearance (GC) loaded PIFA.
