If the 3M retainer is used, pay attention to the position of the 3M connector in the system design. If the connector used has a standoff, there is virtually no restriction on where it can be located on the board – the raised connector provides the clearance necessary to shut the retainer wire frame. However, if the connector does not feature the standoff, the connector must be mounted at the edge of the board to allow enough space for the wire frame to lock to the underside of the CFast card.
