The Power Architecture core of the MPC8544E delivers a frequency range up to 1 GHz and is capable of delivering 2,240 MIPS of processing performance. The on-chip system interconnects provide low latency and increased bandwidth connectivity to a high-performance DDR2 SDRAM controller for main memory and to the PCI Express® and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces. The sub 4 watt typical power dissipation of the MPC8544E enables manufacturers to build solutions requiring low heat and fanless operation that reduce costs and board real estate requirements.
