The MPC8544DS is a high-performance computing evaluation and development platform supporting the MPC8544 PowerQUICC III processor. This development platform is optimized to support the high-bandwidth memory ports of the processor core, as well as the three PCI Express ports. Two of the PCI Express ports are dedicated for graphics or other slot-based cards, and another is dedicated to Linux I/O with the Southbridge ULI 1575. The MPC8544DS is designed for a standard Advanced Technology Extended (ATX) form-factor, allowing it to be used in a 1U or 2U rack-mount chassis, as well as in a standard ATX chassis. The system is lead-free and RoHS-compliant.
