Security systems are an ideal application for the sensors. They can be used to sense door and window position for the alarm, where the sensor detects data and wirelessly sends it to the security control to verify that the window or door is open or closed. Design engineers’ requirements in this type of application are low power usage to enable battery operated wireless control, high sensitivity is needed due to larger air gap needs, as well as a small package. It is also necessary to have a temperature range of up to 85˚C (185°F), and high durability to withstand open and closure movements.
