Magnetoresistive Sensor ICs Slide 7

There are many advantages to choosing the SM353LT Magnetoresistive sensor over the Hall-effect sensor. The SM353LT has a higher sensitivity when compared to the Hall-effect sensor, it has a 14 Gauss typical operate at 1.65 V vs. the high sensitivity Hall at 30 Gauss typical allowing for sensing distance of two times greater, or more. It can improve design flexibility, and allows for the reduction of costs by using less magnetic material, or a more common magnet. Competitive Hall-effect sensors to the SM353LT use at least ten times more power.
