As shown in the following series of slides, Honeywell’s Magnetoresistive Sensor ICs are perfect for a number applications. In a metering and flow sensing application the sensor can be used as a counting mechanism or an anti-tamper switch in water and gas utility meters. For this particular application the most important factors design engineers need that Honeywell’s sensors provide are <500 nA power consumption, which allows for long battery life, high sensitivity with a large air gap and flexibility, a temperature range of up to 85˚C (185°F), and greater durability.
